Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads Receives $10,000 Grant from the Southern Bank Foundation
Funds to be used for Critical Home Repairs
February 28, 2024 (Norfolk, VA): Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads (Habitat SHR) is the beneficiary of a $10,000 grant from the Southern Bank Foundation that will be used to provide critical home repairs for South Hampton Roads income-constrained seniors, disabled and/or Veteran homeowners unable to make the repairs on their own. The repairs, made at no cost to the homeowners, will enable them to remain in their homes under warm, safe and dry conditions.
The Southern Bank Foundation provides financial backing for endeavors that help to improve and enhance the quality of life within the communities it serves. This support empowers various initiatives and projects that bring positive change and growth.
“This grant from the Southern Bank Foundation establishes a new partnership to increase our ability to provide more critically needed home repairs to South Hampton Roads homeowners unable to make the repairs on their own,” said Frank Hruska, executive director of Habitat SHR. “We are most grateful for the generosity of the Southern Bank Foundation.”
