Community Foundation Hosts A Celebration of Black Philanthropy

In honor of Black Philanthropy Month, the Hampton Roads Community Foundation will host A Celebration of Black Philanthropy at the Attucks Theatre on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 5:15 p.m. This year, the historic theater marks its 100th anniversary as a hub of African American culture.

The event is free and open to the public and features a keynote address by Marsha Morgan, chair of the Community Investment Network, a national network of giving circles. The program will also feature attorney Sharon Goodwyn of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, the new vice chair of the community foundation board of directors and first African American and woman to serve in a top leadership role on the board. The event will conclude with a special announcement by the community foundation.
