Fairlead Integrated, a veteran-owned small business supplier for electrical and mechanical solutions and products for the U.S. Navy and Ford-class aircraft carriers, Virginia-class submarines and all classes of surface combatants and amphibious ships, announced the acquisition of the former Ocean Marine and Yacht Center in Portsmouth.
The facility will be converted into Fairlead Structures, a maintenance facility to repair, upgrade and maintain equipment and systems onboard U.S. Navy ships. The facility will also be used for structural fabrication and preservation, as well as large blast and paint projects. The new facility will employ an additional 180–225 employees once completely operational in 2020.
