Langley Federal Credit Union Donates to Foodbanks

From Nov. 18 to Dec. 7, Langley Federal Credit Union employees and members across the region collected 900 pounds of dried goods and baby products for local foodbanks, equaling an estimated 750 meals for local families.

One in seven people in Virginia will utilize the Foodbank’s services, while one in six children live in food insecure households, which is why Langley employees and members worked together to support the region’s foodbanks.

More than 15 members from the Langley operations team volunteered at the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank on Dec. 3 to stuff backpacks a part of the Backpacks for Kids program that provides healthy meals during the weekends when kids are out of school. Additionally, Langley sponsored the 2019 Mayflower Marathon, which was a record-breaking year providing 700,000 meals for families in the region.
